This year, as every year, June 7 is being observed as World Day. The World Health Organization (WHO) is organizing various programs on the occasion of the day in different countries.
World Food Safety Day History:
This day was first observed in 2018 to raise awareness of global food security issues. Since then, the day has been observed jointly by the World Health Organization and member states of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, as well as other stakeholders. About half a million people worldwide die of transfat heart disease every year. The World Health Organization sets a goal of eliminating trans fats from the world’s food supply chain by 2024.
Meanwhile, a report released by the World Health Organization on the occasion of this year’s day said that one out of every ten people worldwide is affected by foodborne illness. Although safe food is a source of good health, unsafe food is the cause of many diseases.

As a result, food security in poor countries will deteriorate drastically due to high prices. The conflict could lead to food insecurity for at least 10 million people, which could lead to famine.
