How to Save a Life Sheet Music: Home About How Music Music Theory Lessons Piano Lessons Piano Sheets Music Worksheets Quiz ShopPiano is a great part to learn because you can have a lot of fun playing it at various parties and leading the sing along. I did 2 different arrangements at once. There is an easy piano sheet music version that you can learn even if you are just starting out in your piano learning journey. I also arranged a version of Happy Birthday for intermediate piano that is a bit more challenging. Hope you enjoy learning them!
I have kept the notes of the simple piano version as simple as possible. The key signature is in F major (A flat – B flat). This is a good key to learn to play because the melody will be in a pitch range that most people (men and women) can sing. Key selection is a really important thing to consider when people are learning to sing – you don’t want to spend so long learning a piece that it’s too much for someone. You can sing!!
How to Save a Life Sheet Music?
Ben Dunnett Image Created and Organize Straight to Your Inbox for Music Newsletter Opt-in This is a lovely piano composition with three quarter note (crochet) beats each bar in a 3/4 time signature. However, there is a boost as the melody begins on the last beat of the bar.
The notes in the right hand follow the melody line.
The right hand may remain in its starting position for all of the 1st line. When you reach the first note of the second line “Birth” you should extend to place your 5th finger on the top C note. Added an additional harmony line to the right hand section. Fingering is sometimes quite difficult and I have added some suggestions. You may find that depending on what works best for you, you may want to slightly modify the fingertips I wrote.
I’ve found it hard to get my students comfortable with seventh chords, so this new arrangement is going to get a big push from me in the coming months! For chord beginners: regular chords are TRIADS – on the piano it’s “note, skip and skip. Add one more skip to that triad to turn it into a seventh chord.(That’s not the end of the story, but it’s the basic idea.) Primary rolled chords are depicted with a glissando symbol instead of individual notes. When the same chord is played for two consecutive measures, a minor bass note is used instead of the root of the chord.
Left hand notes are also very common in this arrangement.
You can keep your left hand in the starting position for the entire piece. Make sure you keep an eye out for the B flat in bar 6 (it’s easy to forget the key signature at this point and try to play a B natural by accident! The second beat of bar 6 has a pause (fermata) symbol. Don’t forget to pause at this point for a big finish while doing the song – this will definitely encourage people to sing along!
